How to Apply Simix Coating to Marble or Natural Stone Floors
Applying Simix to marble floors or natural stone floors is easy. You will need basic floor and janitorial equipment. Application can be handled by your own staff if they follow these instructions exactly.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

  • 400 grit diamond pad
  • 800 grit diamond pad
  • Red pad
  • Burnishing machine
  • Floor scrubber
  • Clean microfiber mop (new mop are coated with chemicals and must be washed in Simix Cleaner)
  • Backpack sprayer
  • Dust mop
  • Simix Multi-Surface Cleaner
  • Simix Ceramic Floor Coating

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Grind (hone) the marble floor with a 400 grit diamond pad.
  2. Dust mop.
  3. Mix Simix Ceramic Floor Coating with water in backpack sprayer. You use 2 parts water to 1 part Simix. That means if you are using 1 gallon of Simix, you add 2 gallons of water.
  4. One person sprays a light coat of the Simix-water solution on the floor. Another person spreads the coating with the clean microfiber mop.
  5. Wait 20 minutes for the coating to dry.
  6. Apply a second coat in the exact same way.
  7. Burnish with the 800 grit diamond pad.
  8. Dust mop.
  9. If you can, wait 4 to 8 hours before applying the final two coats. This will assure that crud under the surface will be expelled by the coating so that you can clean it.
  10. Put the red pad on the floor scrubber. Clean the floor with Simix Multi-Surface Cleaner (one small scoop per gallon of water).
  11. Pick up residue.
  12. Add two more coats using the same method.
  13. Burnish with the 800 pad.
  14. Dust mop.
  15. If you see any haze, put the red pad on the scrubber. Clean the floor with Simix Multi-Surface Cleaner (one small scoop per gallon of water).
  16. Add two more coats using the same method.
  17. Burnish with the 800 pad.
  18. Dust mop.
  19. If you see any haze, clean with the red pad to remove calcium carbonate dust.
